Don’t forget to stop by to Madame Zuzus tonight. We will be recording a future Vinyl Schminyl Radio Hour! It’s a tea kind of evening. Should be a lot of fun.
Vinyl Schminyl Radio is one of the top Classic Rock podcasts on the internet right now. Started by former Chicagoland radio announcer Bob Stern in April 2010 Vinyl Schminyl Radio brings forth a Monday through Friday Classic Deep Cut with an interesting short back story surrounding it. Some cuts are taken from the original vinyl and the Schminyl part would be ones that aren’t. Twice a month Bob presents The Vinyl Schminyl Radio Hour featuring some of the best Classic Rock music on the planet. In March of 2012Bob interviewed The Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan for a Very Special Vinyl Schminyl Radio Hour. On Saturday February 2 Bob will be recording a Vinyl Schminyl Radio Hour Live At Madame Zuzu’s. Madame Zuzu’s is a 1930s style Chinese tea house owned by Billy Corgan which opened in September of 2012 at 582 Roger Williams in Highland Park, IL. The entire hour will be devoted to the music of Pink Floyd, tracing their roots from the Syd Barrett days starting with Piper At The Gates Of Dawn (1967) all the way to their final album The Division Bell (1994). Admission is free to this event and begins at 8:15pm. It should be a great time for all with at Billy Corgan’s tea house who, by the way, inducted Pink Floyd into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1996. Chances are Billy will be there!
