LAKE FOREST, IL – Chicago Bears DE Julius Peppers has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Month after recording six tackles, four sacks, one tackle for loss, 10 quarterback pressures and three pass break ups in November.
Peppers’ four sacks were tied for most in the NFC and his 33 sack yards were tops in the conference. His three pass break ups were tied for the most among NFC defensive linemen during the month. During the month of November, he helped a Bears defense that was tops in the NFC and third in the NFL in passer rating (62.9) and third in the NFC and fifth in the NFL in rushing defense (81.0 yards per game).
Peppers was also named NFC Defensive Player of the Month last November and it is his fourth NFC Defensive Player of the Month award overall (November of 2004 and October of 2006 with Carolina). Peppers is the first Bears player to win NFC Defensive Player of the Month multiple times since the award first started in 1986.
