Here’s what’s on Acid Flashback Radio this weekend. For more on each show, see our weekend shows page.
Friday
Acid Flashback Friday with DJ Uncle Steve (noon ET) falls on October 9, the shared birthday of John Entwistle of The Who (1944), Jackson Browne (1948) and John Lennon (1940). We pay tribute to all three, with hour one for Entwistle, hour two for Browne, and a third hour featuring John Lennon with Beatles and Lennon solo songs. That hour also samples last week’s release of the Rubber Soul Super Deluxe. More on this day in rock history
Saturday
Psychedelic Psaturday with DJ Kaigem (1 pm ET): Eric opens this week’s show with Love’s “She Comes in Colors” from their album Da Capo. Along the way he spotlights Paul Revere & The Raiders (Midnight Ride), Shannon Shaw (Shannon in Nashville), The Left Banke (The Left Banke Too), Five Day Week Straw People (their self-titled album), and Cirkus (One).
The Flower Power Hour with Ken & MJ (2 pm ET): Ken & MJ spread peace, love, and magic dust with three hours of cool radio. Hour 1 is a music and interview show with Rhinoceros founding member Alan Gerber, including an in-depth look at his new album, The Well. REO Speedwagon is in the spotlight in Hour 2, and Hour 3 brings the second half of their music and interview show with rock photographer Henry Diltz.
Sunday
Sunday Time Warp with Bart Shore (3 pm ET): This week’s Time Warp has Millie Small’s “My Boy Lollipop,” Fanny’s “Charity Ball,” Three Dog Night’s “Easy to Be Hard,” The Walker Brothers’ “The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore,” Leon Russell’s “If I Were a Carpenter,” Marianne Faithfull’s “As Tears Go By,” and The Rolling Stones’ “All Down the Line,” plus Steve Miller Band, Boz Scaggs and Neil Diamond.
Psychedelic Time Warp Show #56, The Beatles Name Drop (4 pm ET): A themed program in which every song mentions the Beatles, members of the Beatles, or has a reference to Beatles songs. Hear David Bowie, the Who, the Police, Billy Joel, Simon and Garfunkel, Sugarloaf, Chicago, John Fogerty, Three Dog Night, the Clash, Frank Zappa and Pink Floyd, plus more. Also comedy from Allan Sherman and a few audio snippets on the Fab Four.

All Hand Mixed Vinyl with Bill Fitzhugh (6 pm ET): This week’s chapter starts off showing some respect for the old tinkle box, AKA the ivories or the 88s. Among others, we’ll hear from Chuck Leavell, Nicky Hopkins, and George Winston of all people covering a Doors classic. In the second half of the show we’ll hear the softer side of some harder bands including Tommy Bolin, BTO, and Steve Miller. And bridging the two sides of this gulf: Buckingham Nicks.
The Grateful Dead Hour with David Gans (7 pm ET), Show #1985: Warren Haynes brings “Shakedown Street” from his symphonic album Dreams & Songs: A Symphonic Journey. I saw Warren at Ravinia in 2016, when he led the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration with an orchestra and former Jerry Garcia Band vocalist Jaclyn LaBranch, so this one is close to my heart. The 50th Anniversary Remaster of Steal Your Face delivers “Casey Jones.” Part two is from the Dead’s April 30, 1977 show at the Palladium in New York City, with “The Music Never Stopped,” “Bertha,” “It’s All Over Now,” “Deal,” “Mama Tried” into “Me and My Uncle,” and “Fennario.”

The Zecom Hour with Bart Shore (8 pm ET): A new Stevie Wonder EP drawn from Songs in the Key of Life, the latest from the Rolling Stones and Keith Richards, classics from Sam Cooke and Dave Mason, and much more.
