New Feature: On The Record – Whipped Cream & Other Delights

On The Record with Eric Berman – Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass

I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve been over to visit’s resident music guru Eric Berman.  His collection is simply astounding. It would be the envy of just about any radio station in the world, let alone any music collector.  More than twenty thousand vinyl albums and compact discs, with the majority being LP records.

During the aforementioned visits Eric, would play a few selected records, and promptly begin to tell me all about the recording, the artist, or some interesting tidbits. It was usually from memory, or a cursory glance at the album jacket. His knowledge seemingly matches the size and scope of his record collection.

After months and months of pleading, he has finally agreed to let me video him regaling me with one such backstory.  His discussion centered around one of the most interesting items in his collection – the one hundred and fifty copies he possesses of the iconic Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass album – Whipped Cream & Other Delights.

The result is the debut feature we proudly present: On The Record with Eric Berman.  If this proves popular, he has agreed to make more. Television has pilots, so I suppose that’s what this is, for the video world.  We hope you like it.
