The 3D RadioActivity  number 303 is brought to you by a standard unit of measurement.  The mile is an English unit of length equal to 1,760 yards (1,610 m) and standardized as exactly 1,609.344 metres by international agreement in 1959. The Roman mile consisted of a thousand paces of two steps each, so they divided their mile into 5,000 feet but the greater importance of furlongs in pre-modern England meant that the statute mile was made equivalent to 5,280 feet or 1,760 yards in 1593.  It is also used to describe or translate a wide range derived from or roughly equivalent to theirs, such as the  nautical, Italian, Arabic, English, Welsh, Irish, and the Chinese mile.  A country mile is used colloquially to denote a very long distance.  “Missed by a mile”, “Talk a mile a minute”, To go the extra mile” and even the term milestone thusly are all related.   We will be going that distance and more this time for you with cuts about and by Miles, of all kinds.
