Psychedelic Psaturday on Acid Flashback Radio – October 18, 2025

Psychedelic Psaturday is hosted by DJ Kaigem

This Saturday, Acid Flashback Radio presents another edition of Psychedelic Psaturday, featuring a mix of vintage, nuggets, and modern psych rock. The show airs at 1 pm Eastern / 10 am Pacific, with a replay at 11 pm Eastern.

We’ll lead off with The Tiffany Shade, a Cleveland-based psychedelic band that released one self-titled album on Mainstream Records in 1968. Despite solid musicianship and songwriting, the group faded quickly after accusing their label of poor promotion.

Next up is The Cake, an all-female group that combined California’s pop sound with New York’s edge. Their short career produced a few standout tracks that blended girl-group harmonies with light psychedelic touches.

Also on the playlist: The Third Bardo, a short-lived New York band named after the Tibetan concept of the “Bardo,” the state between death and rebirth. They released only two singles but left their mark with “I’m Five Years Ahead of My Time,” a cult favorite among garage-psych fans.

From today’s scene, we’ll feature Nick Waters, a New York–based bedroom musician making new psychedelic pop that recalls the experimental spirit of the late sixties.

Then there’s The Tea Company, another New York group known for their lone album of spaced-out rock. “Tea” was slang for cannabis, and their sound matched the name — loose, loud, and unconventional.

Finally, The Shadows of Knight, Chicago’s own garage blues band, will be in the mix. They built their sound by covering British blues acts who were, in turn, inspired by Chicago blues. As they put it, they were “a shadow of a shadow of the blues.”

Tune in to Psychedelic Psaturday on Acid Flashback Radio, part of the InternetFM network, for these and other tracks from the underground side of classic rock.
