3D VeeJay

December 22, 2020 by Marty Masters

Vee-Jay Records was founded in the 50s, located in Chicago, specializing in blues, jazz, rhythm and blues and rock and roll. Founded by Vivian Carter and James C. Bracken, the husband-and-wife team used their initials for the label’s name. One of the earliest African American-owned record companies, they quickly became a major R&B player. In a decade, they had significant success in pop while also becoming a major soul label and that’s exactly who your Uncle Marty is playing for you on encounter 566 of The 3D RadioActivity.

Every tune this time was a charting hit on Vee Jay or one it’s subsidiaries, and we have plenty more up our record sleeves that have not spun on our virtual or real 3D turntables. We’re always open to your recommendations so tell me by sending  email, or with a message on our Facebook page which has links to the archives of all the earlier episodes and Airedorable graphics in the photo section.  Tell all discerning music listeners to look for us on Denver’s  MileHiRadio,  Theacidflashback.com,  TuneIn,  and InternetFM dot com, because the best FM radio is now on the Internet.

Until we meet again, Keep Rockin’ On!
