Ron Onesti joined us on Acid Flashback Radio as our special guest DJ.
He is president and founder of St. Charles, Illinois – based Onesti Entertainment Corporation, producing over 200 concerts, corporate events, casino shows and festivals annually all over the United States.
Ron produces shows at the historic Arcada Theatre, with major acts such as Mickey Rooney, Pat Benatar, Toto, Joan Rivers, Bret Michaels, Luke Bryan, Jerry Lewis, Martin Short and Kevin Costner. He has added several other smaller music venues around Chicagoland to his music empire.
Onesti took over operations of the Arcada Theatre 15 years ago, the one-time 1920s-era vaudeville show palace, was showing second run movies, in disrepair, and in danger of being turned into an office building. Rallying community support, Onesti transformed the Arcada into a popular live music and entertainment venue which, during the pandemic, has been significantly upgraded and expanded.
Ron gave us a set list that included Vanilla Fudge, Jethro Tull, ZZ Top, Van Halen, Chicago, Styx, Foghat, Rush and more. He regaled us with stories about the people he knows in the music business like Dennis DeYoung, George Thorogood, Danny Seraphine (of Chicago) and more.
