The Gospel According to Uncle Marty – Chapter IV The Award Winning 3D RadioActivity

April 1, 2013 by Marty Masters

I’m Uncle Marty, this is The 3D RadioActivity, and on this episode we are playing Gospel Music as we have done in earlier podcasts.   Gospel music is an interesting genre. The creation, performance, significance, and even the definition varies according to culture and social context. Composed and performed for many purposes, including aesthetic pleasure, religious or ceremonial purposes, and as an entertainment product for the marketplace. In general it is characterized by dominant vocals (often with strong use of harmony) referencing lyrics of a Christian nature.  In comparison with hymns, which are generally of a statelier measure, the gospel song is expected to have a refrain and often a more syncopated rhythm.   You could say it rocks.  You know that Sean and I do.

Check us out on Groovy Radio, TuneIn.com and InternetFM too. There was a record number of hits this week on the Facebook page, if that was you, thanks for stopping by and please take a few moments to add some likes to the programs listed in the photos area. I’d like to ask you to tell your friends about our program too.

If you have any ideas for our next shows please be sure to let me know. It’s easy to send an email by clicking on my name below or message me on Facebook, where you will find links to all the previous podcasts along with the graphics in the “Photo” section.
