Lake Bluff, IL (Aug. 4, 2021) – InternetFM™ has released an upgraded version of its ad-free streaming music app that offers passionate audiophiles one-touch access to 44 hand-selected Internet radio stations. The enhanced app is available free-of-charge for both iOS and Android users.
Listeners using InternetFM 2.0 now can:
- Create a list of favorite artists and receive in-app notifications and direct links to stations that are playing them (note: users must register to access this function)
- Offer more detailed and personalized feedback than just a “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” on song preferences (users can reference six different data points and text their comments to station owners)
- Assign any of the 47 available stations to the 18 pre-set buttons that allow you to easily switch from one to another, while selecting from nine color themes
“We created the InternetFM app to offer a hand-curated, personalized listening experience that’s a lot more like what FM radio used to be when algorithms didn’t rule everything,” said cofounder Steve Leventhal. “With our app, you don’t have to sift through thousands of stations on the web to find what you want. InternetFM offers the finest selection of premier classic rock, alternative, oldies, jazz, blues, country, jam band, metal and ambient stations.”
With a valuation of $1.5 million, InternetFM partners with independently owned streaming stations run by experienced broadcast professionals offering the talent and technology needed for a true radio experience. The dee-jays play a wide array of deep cuts and rare versions of popular songs, including historic live performances and studio outtakes. In addition, several stations feature local artists and up-and-coming musicians across many genres.
“InternetFM is positioned to offer a unique music streaming service,” said Gary Castagna, founder and director of Castagna Consulting, LLC, and one of InternetFM’s key investors. “It will bring back the FM radio music programming experience to listeners who enjoy hearing tracks rarely played by the current streaming services. The InternetFM team has the passion and drive to build a music service for discriminating audiophiles worldwide.” A certified public accountant and former C-suite executive, Mr. Castagna has more than three decades of experience in helping grow public and private companies within the industrial and consumer product sectors.
According to a 2021 Midia Research study, the streaming music market is a $14.2 billion industry with a paying subscriber base of 516 million users. Interestingly, more than 16 million users switch platforms annually, many of whom are in search of a more individualized and meaningful music experience.
Passionate music fans are going to love this update,” Mr. Leventhal said. “You can plug it into your car and go back in time to the 1970s when there were so many great radio options up and down the dial. And with no commercials, you’ll only need to change stations to find a song you like better. And with the option to get notified when a station is playing one of your favorite artists, you can stay on top of the music you love.”
