3D Oscars Part II

September 1, 2014 by Marty Masters

Once again, The 3D RadioActivity is playing the best in music that got it’s fame from accompanying visual efforts on the big screen.  The Academy Awards are an annual American ceremony honoring recognition of achievements in the film industry worldwide.  Winners receive the statuette better known by his nickname Oscar, although his official title is the Academy Award of Merit.  This little golden man made his debut in 1929 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, overseen by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.  They feature honors for the cream of the crop of several aspects of production, like lead and supporting actors, actresses, direction, writing, and the music, including score and original song.  This award category was introduced at the ceremony honoring the best in film for 1934. The equivalents, the Emmys for television, the Grammys for music and recording, and the Tonys for theatre, are all modeled after the Oscars.   Nominations are made by Academy members who are songwriters and composers, and the winners are chosen by the Academy membership as a whole.
